Nottingham Railway Station Fire
Jan 12
👤 by Robin Snow

The roads around Nottingham Railway Station have been closed because of a huge fire at the station. Buildings and hotels have been evacuated.

Station Street, Carrington Street and Queen's Road have been closed by Nottinghamshire Police while Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service and British Transport Police deal with the incident.

The blaze broke out at 6:30am on the morning of Friday Jan 12. Ten crews and appliances were called to the scene where the fire had spread from the lower concourse all the way to the roof.

The emergency services have evacuated all commuters from the platforms and from the station foyer which filled with smoke. Trains have been stopped on their tracks causing chaos - Network Rail was still to advise of re-routing as at 10:00am.
