Fantastic BEIS And Corporate Responsibility

31 August 2018

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has awarded ISS a 4-year contract with the option to extend to a total of 6 years.

The contract is to supply facilities management services worth £49 million through the Crown Commercial Services ‘Services Framework’.

The contract, covering over 50 sites in the UK includes a number of Partner Organisations including HM Land Registry; Intellectual Property Office; The Insolvency Service; ACAS; Companies House and UKRI.

Corporate Responsibility

Meanwhile, ISS has also released its Corporate Responsibility summary report for 2017 which provides an overview of the impact on clients, people and communities.

The report for the year highlights the significant steps made in three main objectives: Support sustainable service performance; Enhance customers’ purpose; and Empower people.

Matthew Brabin, CEO ISS UK & Ireland said: “Our CR ambitions bring to life our mission statement of, ‘Service performance facilitating our customers’ purpose through people empowerment’. ThinkForward@ISS is an integral part of the ISS culture and business. It plays a key role in defining the spirit in which we work across the UK & Ireland and is championed by all - from our C-Level though to our people on the frontline.”

New for 2017 - Our CR Leaders

The ISS CR Leaders programme comprises of 150 individuals who have come forward to give their own time to lead a CR agenda at ISS. This helps to ensure that ISS can work together to reinforce local community relationships, innovate to support safety, health & wellbeing; recruit from a broad talent pool and build a diverse and inclusive culture.

Sustainable service performance

Sustainable service performance represents the ISS commitment to make efficient and responsible use of natural resources.  Energy use in the company's own offices and depots has dropped by 32% over the past two years, by deploying better energy technologies.

Enhancing our customers’ purpose

Matthew Brabin said: "For ISS, this means that we strive to inspire our customers to reimagine their workplaces and we are uniquely placed to help this by collaborating with them on their own CR agendas. A key highlight was the choice of The Stroke Association as our new corporate charity partner. Over half of our 40,000 employees cast their vote to support the Stroke Association to 2020. Our people and CR Leaders group work to raise awareness of stroke prevention and to support those in recovery."

People empowerment

Brabin continued: "This represents our commitment to identify, retain and develop the best talent. In 2017, a key achievement was our support of Pride, part of which was the transformation of the ISS Logo into rainbow colours. This provides a constant and visible reminder of our commitment to inclusion."
