In The Knowsley

Medirest, the healthcare division of Compass Group, has secured a contract to continue its facilities management, retail and patient dining services at St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, in Merseyside.

Starting in June, Medirest will continue to provide patient catering with its Steamplicity cooking concept, which includes meal options ranging from poached salmon, vegetarian Cottage Pie and fish and chips. This is in addition to services such as portering, security, receptionists and a range of retail offers.

Ann Marr, Chief Executive at St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospital NHS Trust said: “The Trust is pleased to continue its partnership with Medirest, which over the past ten years has been very successful. The Medirest team deliver their services with great efficiency, which means we can focus on delivering the best possible care to our patients.”

St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust provides a full range of acute healthcare services across a number of sites including inpatient, outpatient, maternity and emergency services.

 

Glasgow 2018 European Championships Contract

Sodexo has won the contract to deliver catering for the Glasgow 2018 European Rowing Championships and European Triathlon Championships at Strathclyde Country Park – part of the new multi-sport Glasgow 2018 European Championships.

Around 160 elite triathletes and 600 of Europe’s best rowers are expected to compete at the venue between 2 and 11 August.

Sodexo will provide nutritionally balanced meals made from Scottish ingredients to athletes and team officials, technical officials, volunteers, Championships Family and spectators.

Over the course of the 10-day competition it is expected more than 10,000 meals will be served to teams and staff, alongside catering for the general public.

With plans to recruit around 50 additional staff to provide support during the Glasgow 2018 European Championships, Sodexo will be providing employment opportunities to locals and those with catering industry experience.

 

Atalian Completes On Servest

The Atalian Group has completed the formal part of its move to acquire the entire share capital of Servest Limited.

Atalian is an international provider of facility services operating in 31 countries on 4 continents.

The consideration for the acquisition includes £457 million of enterprise value for Servest Limited and £83 million for Servest Limited's 28.8% equity investment in Getronics Services UK Limited.

The Atalian Group has had a commercial partnership with Servest through a joint venture, since April 2016.    

 

Blue Light Call Out

Wright Facilities Management (EWFM) has been awarded a contract to service 16 PFI fire stations across the North-West over the next 18 years.

The team, which is based at Bamber Bridge in Preston, has been appointed as a subcontractor by ENGIE Services Limited and Balfour Beatty under the partnership’s PFI arrangement.

They will service stations located across Merseyside, Lancashire and Cumbria all of which have been designed, built, financed and are operated by Balfour Beatty Investments. They range in size from a single appliance fire station to multi-appliance stations with additional garaging for special equipment. Some of the sites also include training facilities and office space.

As part of the contract EWFM will deliver a range of services which include both hard and soft FM services including service desk operation, statutory compliance, planned and reactive maintenance, energy management, grounds maintenance, vending, cleaning and janitorial services.

The Eric Wright team has also transferred, under TUPE regulations, 7 team members including a technical services supervisor, engineers and caretaker from ENGIE into EWFM as well as 18 staff to cleaning sub-contractor Future Cleaning Services.

 

Operations Director Appointed At Daventry Norse

Norse Group has appointed Nick Drake as Operations Director at Daventry Norse, the group’s recently formed partnership with Daventry District Council.

Norse Group Director Mark Emms said; “Daventry Norse will be delivering a complete change of service for all residential waste collections on day one. Nick’s extensive experience in the waste services sector will be invaluable in overseeing the smooth transition of waste services, from the council’s incumbent contractor into the new partnership.”
