Sodexo is placing British Institute of Facilities Management qualifications in facilities management ‘at the heart’ of its talent management strategy to develop its integrated facilities management business.

Now a BIFM Recognised Centre, Sodexo UK and Ireland is delivering the professionally recognised FM qualifications in-house for employees; forming an integral part of its Integrated FM Academy.

The company reports that its integrated facilities management business is rapidly growing, now forming more than 50% of its business and hand in hand with this growth, is the focus on developing its people, both in their skill and competence and ensuring that they are professionally qualified to deliver high standards of FM.

The BIFM qualifications’ flexible framework enables employers to develop talent pipelines through the career levels but also to tailor the unit selection to meet the needs of the business and the individual employee.

Gareth Tancred, CEO, BIFM, stated: “Sodexo is truly focused on ensuring its people are skilled, competent and qualified in order to deliver high quality integrated facilities management services to its clients. With the FM Professional Standards and the BIFM qualifications, we have been able to offer something that provides Sodexo with the professional rigour and acclaim that it needed but that also adapts and flexes to meet specific needs of teams or individuals due to the breadth of the units available.”
