The creation of a new amenities building at a university has also led to a company being nominated for three awards.

The Barn was created in response to the University of Nottingham's 2008 master plan for the 100-acre Sutton Bonington campus to establish a new amenities building which would unite the previously separate student and staff facilities so that are accessible under one roof, improving the user's experience.

EOS Facades was appointed as the steel framing systems (SFS) supplier for the project which included a comprehensive design package and the manufacture and supply of them.

Throughout the project, the company took what it believed was ‘every step possible to innovate and add real value’. It reduced programme times through offsite manufacturing, ensured the block was value-engineered from blockwork to steel framing systems and that the frame was weather tight to allow for follow on trades to move on to site faster.

The work has led to EOS Facades being selected as finalist of three East Midlands Celebrating Construction Awards.
