Transport for London and the London Transport Museum is celebrating the Year of the Bus and the role this mode of transport has played in the history of the capital

It is designed to be a series of ‘engaging’ events, exhibitions, recreations and activities that will bring to Londoners the history of their bus network and remind the world of the significant role it plays in the capital city.

This year will see a number of anniversaries which that will emphasise the role of the iconic London buses. For example, it has been 60 years since the creation of the Routemaster, 75 years since the launch of the RT-Type bus and 100 years since the world's first mass-produced motor bus, the B-Type Battle Bus that carried soldiers to the frontline during the First World War.

(Of course you have to go back to 1827 to find the first ever bus service introduced by George Shillibeer)

To make all the logistical side possible, specialist removal and relocation company, Harrow Green, played an essential role in ensuring that the models and actual buses were moved into position during the night to begin the celebrations.
