International facilities management company Macro has appointed Hugh Henderson as Director of Consultancy, with a focus on developing its consultancy business worldwide.

After five years in the United Arab Emirates, Hugh has moved to Macro’s UK head office at 155 Moorgate where he will build on his experience in the Middle East and expand the business into new countries and new sectors. Initially, he will focus on broadening the consultancy services of Macro, to align with the work of its parent company Mace. He will be responsible for managing facilities management services across the full life cycle of FM and asset management.

Hugh has been with Macro since 2005. He holds a Master’s degree in facilities management and is a certified member of the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM), as well as a member of the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA). He has over 30 years’ experience in senior management roles and FM positions in both the public and private sectors. During his time at Macro, Hugh has worked on a number of major projects in the UAE, Jordan, Qatar, Egypt, Bahrain and The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Commenting on his new appointment, Hugh said: “I’m looking forward to help take Macro forward into a new and ambitious period of growth. Macro has a well-established facilities management and asset management consultancy team in the UK and in the Middle East. My aim will be to extend the breadth and depth of the services that we offer our clients.”

Debra Ward, Managing Director of Europe and North America for Macro, said: “These are exciting times for the consultancy business as we seek to broaden our reach internationally. Hugh Henderson brings a wealth of experience to the team and I look forward to seeing how he progresses in his new role.”
