Cofely has launched a new International FM division. Parent company GDF Suez is said to add a touch of ’je nais se quoi’...but ThisWeekinFM does know what - it’s the Energy Factor.

Cofely International FM Ltd., a GDF Suez company, is incorporated in the UK with operational bases throughout EMEA, Asia Pacific, North America and Latin America. The company has launched a new International FM division to be the single point of contact for existing global, multi-national and regional Total Facilities Management customers, as well as co-ordinating all activities relating to new multi-national business opportunities.

Cofely is part of GDF Suez Energy Services, one of the business lines of GDF Suez which employs 78,000 people with a turnover of €14.7 billion in 2012. GDF Suez is active across the entire energy chain. The Group employs 138,200 people worldwide, with a turnover of €82 billion in 2012. Gaz de France was created in 1946 along with its sister company Électricité de France. Suez can trace its history back to its founding to build the Suez Canal.

Cofely in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland (UK & ROI) has a turnover of £300 million, and employs 2,200 across 13 regional offices.

The new entity is headed up by GDF Suez Energy Services’ International FM Director Juergen Kulka, former head of Service Management International. Kulka has over 15 years’ experience in the development of international FM solutions and regional or global TFM portfolio deals. He said: “This move allows Cofely to execute integrated facility services management solutions with competence in a market that is clearly waiting for a player with a heritage in technical expertise.

“As part of GDF Suez, we are the only company in this market that can provide energy ownership from exploration and production up to its application in plants or offices. At times of increasing sustainability awareness and higher energy costs, corporate clients are looking for the next generation of integrated facility efficiency.”

Cofely is able to deliver Total FM solutions in over 30 countries and already has a sizeable portfolio of major multi-national clients with total revenue of around €1billion. The new International FM business, claims Kulka will harness cultural awareness, technical ability and a ‘unique’ energy efficiency and management capability. He said “As well as driving best practice and continuous improvement, our new delivery model not only helps to add value to our proposition but also helps clients reduce their costs. I think it is time to move the international FM outsourcing proposition to a new level.
