ISS Buys GSH in Drive Towards Self-delivery

ISS UK Limited, a global provider of facility services, has acquired the UK & European operations of engineering firm GSH Group Plc with a view to enhancing its technical services capability - and to 'drive towards a more integrated self-delivery solution'.

In a statement the firm said: 'The UK, Ireland and European technical services division of GSH Group Plc achieved revenues of approximately £135m in the year ended 31 December 2014 and employs circa 800 staff. This strategic move will create a significantly enhanced delivery capability comprising of over 1,800 technicians across the entire region'.

The acquisition strengthens ISS’ technical capability in engineering which stood at 1,000 engineers. GSH Group is an established provider of energy management, compliance and technical services in the UK and across Europe.

GSH will retain its activities in India and the USA.

 ISS currently supports clients in some of the largest data centres and other critical environments in the financial and manufacturing industries.

Richard Sykes, ISS UK and Ireland CEO said: “This is a strategic acquisition by ISS to enhance our technical capabilities both in the UK and Europe.”

Clive Clarke, UK, Ireland MD of GSH said: “This is an absolutely perfect fit for our business and provides a huge opportunity for all our staff. It will boost our technical engineering self-delivery within specialist hard services and total facility management contracts.  ISS and GSH working together for mutual benefit, will provide greater opportunities for colleagues to develop their career paths.”
