Facilities management and building services professionals will be able to understand more about what the Internet of Things (IoT) is and how it is being used in their industry sector at the next FMCentral event.

The event, on Wednesday 24th May, will be held at The Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, near Aylesbury from 6pm to 8:30pm and attendees will also discover what opportunities IoT creates for them.

Speakers include:

  • Penny Dablin, Senior Copywriter, Enterprise Marketing Solutions, who researched and wrote the UK-equivalent of the Harvard Business Review on the Internet of Things for global CEO mentoring organisation, Vistage. Penny will be introducing us to the Internet of Things, explaining how it is already being used within the Facilities Management sector, and the possibilities it could hold for the future of FM.
  • Joe Miles, Managing Director from Hausmate Ltd will be explaining what an intelligent building looks like, why integrated devices are so important and how the Internet of Things can help with the maintenance and monitoring of buildings, all supported by practical, real-life examples.
  • Ben Jackson, Chairman of Quainton Railway Society Ltd, The Buckinghamshire Railway Centre will be taking attendees through the FM challenges he faces running and maintaining a working steam railway, museum and the extensive grounds, and how they have overcome these challenges.

“The Internet of Things is becoming part of our everyday life. We are now at a stage where anything can be fitted with a microchip sensor to collect and report data, including heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems. The possibilities for using IoT to improve your business’ efficiency and effectiveness are endless,” said Karen Moule, Co-founder of FMCentral.

The event will take place on Wednesday 24th May 2017, at The Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, Quainton, Near Aylesbury, HP22 4BY, 6pm - 8.30pm
