Responsible Sourcing on the Global Stage

10 October 2014 | Updated 01 January 1970

A conference, jointly held by CIRIA with the Action Programme for Responsible Sourcing (APRES), will deal with new developments on responsible sourcing in construction.

This year the focus will deliberately move beyond UK borders, to consider the impact of global supply chains on UK sites as we broaden our scope to include other sectors.

It is being promoted as an important annual event for clients, designers, contractors, manufacturers and suppliers, particularly those in design, specification and procurement roles. Reasons for attending:

  • Clients and designers - can you afford the reputational risk that a supply chain exposé might have on one of your projects?
  • Contractors and manufacturers - with environmental and social criteria now featuring heavily on pre-qualification questionnaires, is your business up to speed?
  • Scheme operators - can you be confident that your assessment criteria are up to date and comparable with equivalent schemes operated in other sectors?

This event has a value of six hours towards CPD (as recognised by ICE, CIOB, RICS, CIBSE, IstructE).

Further information:

£90 + VAT for APRES members and CIRIA core, associate and network members.

The event – 27 November 2014, 9.30 – 16.30 – will be at Burleigh Court, Loughborough University Leicestershire and costs £150 + VAT for non-members.
