Shhhhhh! - TWinFM Can't Keep a Secret

20 January 2014 | Updated 01 January 1970

ThisWeekinFM's gossips are putting their money on Bilfinger having extended a £200,000 M&E contract at the truly luxurious Bvlgari Hotel & Resort, London - Knightsbridge's to be precise. The hotel is a home to the rich and famous and renowned for its discretion - it won't even allow suppliers to mention its name without repercussions.

A Deluxe Room, booked last minute will still cost a staggering £1,800 a night plus VAT. This does include a butler - but breakfast is extra. Parking is £20 per hour  plus £60 for the valet service.

Dining is fine - what else would you expect - and there are meeting and events spaces…Oh! And also a 47 seat cinema/private screening room. The Spa and Fitness suite is apparently 'to die for' (not really the point of a fitness suite eh!).

Of course M&E is top notch as well - according to Bilfinger…wherever the contract the company is referring to is. The firm first started working in the luxury venue in May 2012, with one full-time engineer delivering planned preventative maintenance to all plant and equipment. The contract was soon extended to two full-time engineers.

In April last year, the hotel asked Bilfinger to benchmark its specialist sub-contractor costs for the engineering services to a range of plant including chillers, generators, the building management system, catering equipment and laundry equipment.

Following that process, Bilfinger took over the management of the specialist sub-contracts, saving the hotel £70,000, thanks to a bundled M&E approach.
