Headshots

Whether you're a professional, a creative, an entrepreneur, or someone who's active on social media your headshot is your window to the world. The better the image you present, the more relatable, professional and trustworthy you appear. A great headshot inspires confidence.

Today, this is more important than ever as we continue to migrate to a world in which first impressions are made online (think LInkedIn, social media profiles, online resumés, etc). In fact, we’ll usually get just one chance to make that first impression, and if we blow it the opportunity will have gone. Make it count by showing yourself - literally - in the best possible light.

We’ll shoot in my fully-equipped home studio in Borehamwood on the North London border, although I may also be able to come to you if necessary (ask for details). We can be done and dusted in 30 minutes if that’s what you want, or we can take longer and experiment with backgrounds and wardrobe changes. The main thing, though, is that you enjoy yourself and have some fun in a completely informal and relaxed environment.

Anything you order is provided in three formats: one loose 5x4 crop in high resolution , another similar resolution copy but presented as a tighter crop, and a third in a square format, with a lower resolution ideal for LinkedIn and other social media profiles. There’s no minimum order and you can simply choose as many or as few as you’d like on the day of your shoot (we’ll review them at the end of the session) and afterwards.

Portraits

The same approach applies to portraits too. What’s the difference between a headshot and a portrait, though?

  • Portraits can show more (or even all) of your body, and feature more of the background or environment.

  • They can be shot in pretty much any suitable environment; as such, they can show details like a desk, your office, your favourite room in the house, or a specific location that has significance for you.

  • Lighting, posing and expressions can be used far more creatively to tell a story or evoke a mood.

  • Portraits can also be great for supporting your brand and the way you present it to the world.

I can come up with some ideas, or just let me know what you have in mind and we can take it from there.

The chances are the success of your business relies on the relationships your teams build with your customers. Professional quality headshots of your staff will provide that all-important first impression to everyone visiting your website. Equally, they’ll allow your customers to put a face to a name, increasing trust and confidence in your business.

Consistent headshots for staff across the organisation will also enhance and protect your corporate brand, and can be used for a multitude of related purposes (reporting templates, bid documents, marketing collateral, team and individual profiles, editorial copy, conference material, etc).

Unobtrusive and professional

Bringing my portable studio to you I’ll photograph your staff unobtrusively and with the least possible impact on normal day to day activity, and they’ll never have to leave the office. I’ve spent more than three decades as a senior manager and management consultant, so I understand the corporate environment. I’m also used to engaging with marketing, communications and HR professionals, so will quickly and efficiently get to grips with both your creative and your operational requirements.

All images will be provided in both high resolution and web-optimised versions, maximising usage without the need for subsequent adjustment. The entire shoot will be in a single style and format (normally a 5x4 aspect ratio) unless otherwise requested, ensuring a consistent result that meets the brief. Of course, I’m also happy to match your house style if you simply want to add to an existing stock of images.
