    Greening The Legacy Stock

    • Venue: Searcys, The Gherkin, 30 Saint Mary Axe, London, EC3A 8EP

From 08:00 to 11:00 (BST)

The built environment accounts for 40% of the UK’s carbon emissions so ensuring London’s existing commercial building stock is energy efficient will be key to achieving our targets.

Commercial Property Owners, Managers, Occupiers and Operators can make an enormous impact in achieving the Govt. 2030 Carbon Emission target of a 57% reduction from 1990 levels.

Only a minute percentage of Commercial Property is “BREEAM” or “LEED” certified. Leaving the remaining (approx. 98%) of Commercial Property termed “Legacy” stock, all of which has the ability to better perform and reduce energy consumption and impact Carbon Emission output.

Environmental management no longer a “nice to have”. In the next decade, our sector will experience great physical risks due to natural causes, transitional risks as we move to a low-carbon economy and brand risk as the world has woken up to the climate crisis.

This will mean reducing energy, greening the supply and using it responsibly.

Our event will cover:

- An overview of the Climate Crisis and the ever evolving dynamics of the ESG agenda;
- A spotlight on how climate risk factors are beginning to shape investment strategies, allocations and underwriting decisions;
- The changing expectations of third party intermediaries, especially Managing Agents and how they and landlords need to be rebooting the nature of the relationship between themselves, as well as with occupiers;
- The need to improve the knowledge of energy management experts and their profession and act as their united voice; and
- How any company in any sector, of any size, can easily measure and reduce their carbon footprint
