Bureau Veritas Launches App to Assess Readiness to Reopen

Bureau Veritas Launches App To Assess Readiness To Reopen
24 June 2020

The free app enables users to complete an industry-specific questionnaire and receive a “readiness score”, along with safety and hygiene feedback.

As England prepares for a range of lockdown relaxation measures as of 4 July 2020, the i-check app from Bureau Veritas is now available in the UK.

Since a concrete date has been given for businesses such as pubs, restaurants, hotels, hair salons, libraries and museums to reopen, preparations to open safely and hygienically are set to accelerate over the coming weeks.

"...The app provides an opportunity for businesses to self-assess their readiness to resume operations and make sure they have the necessary precautions and processes in place.”

"Readiness Score" To Assess Suitability To Reopen

Bureau Veritas’ app has been in operation across Europe, and is now launching for UK businesses across the hospitality, retail, hotel sectors and SME market, as well as those with employees returning to work in offices. It reflects all the latest government guidelines and regulations, intended to minimise exposure to COVID-19.

The app provides users with an industry-specific questionnaire to achieve a “readiness score”, along with feedback and recommendations on how to proceed with the necessary safety and hygiene requirements. It also gives the option to contact Bureau Veritas, a global leader in testing, inspection and certification services, for a wide range of safety and compliance solutions.

Victoria Shah, Sector Lead in hospitality for Bureau Veritas said: “I-check is part of our comprehensive package of support to help businesses navigate the challenges they face in light of COVID-19. It has been developed quickly in light of the ever-changing situation and thanks to the agility of our developer partners CGI, but already comes with a robust reputation from almost 1,000 users.

“We have already successfully rolled out our Restart Your Business assurance solution, which provides independent assurance of safety and compliance measures to give customers and staff complete peace of mind.

“Now, the app provides an opportunity for businesses to self-assess their readiness to resume operations and make sure they have the necessary precautions and processes in place.”
