Centre Algarve - Who Are They And Why We Chose Them For Our Christmas Extravaganza

Centre Algarve is mainland Europe’s only specialist holiday centre that is fully equipped to allow people with special needs and disabilities to have an amazing holiday with their family or carers. Regardless if they are young or old, anyone can use Centre Algarve to have a memorable family holiday. The centre has created a comfortable, safe and secure environment without scrimping on the fun factor with their grounds and mini zoo.

The centre itself has 14 bedrooms so can keep the experience intimate but not overwhelming like other large complexes, this can sometimes happen when families with disabilities try to holiday. All rooms are fitted with emergency alarms, air-conditioning, satellite TV and Wi-Fi, making it a pleasant experience for everyone! They aim to provide families, specialist schools and organisations the opportunity to explore Europe with the reassurance that the location is specifically designed to cater to those with disabilities, without sacrificing fun and entertainment.

Chairman Andy Mahoney and his son, co-director, Ash have been heavily involved in the special needs field for a long time, supporting and arranging free transportation for charity fun days. However, Andy soon realised there was nowhere for those with special needs and disabilities to enjoy a holiday abroad that specifically caters for specialist and individual needs.

Andy felt this was unfair as others were able to journey far and wide without the limitations of an unsuitable location, therefore limiting the experiences of those with special needs. With a passion to resolve this, Andy made sure that ALL children could enjoy holidays abroad regardless of their disability- introducing Centre Algarve.

This is our first year supporting Centre Algarve and we are extremely excited to collaborate with a charity that is doing great things for those who deserve it most. Due to the true success of previous events, we knew our Christmas Extravaganza would be able to efficiently and proudly support such a charity. Our aim is to bring together the FM industry for a good cause and have some festive fun! Something that can sometimes be forgotten in the hectic world of facilities management.
