Pizza Express Renews Contract

Pizza Express has renewed a contract with Cloudfm who will continue to deliver a tech based model to manage all planned and reactive maintenance for the restaurant at more than 490 sites across the UK. It is worth £50 million over five years.

“Cloudfm has impressed us by giving us visibility of our estate condition which has enabled us to make much better decisions when it comes to managing our assets, as well as providing a basis for more efficient planned and reactive maintenance,” said Dave Murphy, UK CFO at PizzaExpress.

“During the initial contract period Cloud’s sophisticated solution delivered greater transparency of asset status for PizzaExpress, which led to enhanced performance and achieved much improved value for money. Over this time our approach to managing facilities has decreased levels of restaurant downtime by 25%, as well as effecting a saving of over £400k on quoted works," said Jeff Dewing, CEO of Cloudfm.

ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety

EMCOR UK has become one of the first companies worldwide to achieve conformity to new international standard for occupational health and safety with BSI.

The firm has achieved conformity to ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety. The new international standard, the first ISO for Occupational Health and Safety, will be particularly beneficial for organisations operating or trading internationally, as working to a single international standard will simplify business processes. It sets out the requirements for organisations wanting to create and maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all.

Keith Chanter, CEO, EMCOR UK, said:  "Achievement of conformity to ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety with BSI represents continuation of a key strategic objective for EMCOR UK. Creating and maintaining safe and healthy working environments underpins EMCOR UK’s approach to working collaboratively with customers in fulfilling their strategic and operational requirements and demonstrating the way in which we tailor integrated facilities management services to these needs.”

Karen Green, EMEA Head of Product Management & Development at BSI said: “EMCOR are one of the first organisations to achieve conformity to the new occupational health and safety standard – this is testament to the hard work and persistence of the whole team. By achieving conformity, they have demonstrated that they are committed to creating an environment for a healthier, safer and more engaged workforce.”

Replacement

ISO 45001:2016, the newly-published international standard for occupational health and safety (OHS) management systems, will replace the existing OHSAS 18001:2007 standard. EMCOR UK’s new certification follows a rigorous assessment programme to the FDIS (Final Draft International Standard) and a further review against the actual publication of ISO 45001. Organisations currently in possession of the OHSAS 18001 certification will have three years to move to the new standard.

Picture Presumably Cloud will go to Pizza Express to celebrate their contract renewal with a topping out ceremony?
