Alan Murray to Retire as British Safety Industry Federation CEO
05 January 2024

The British Safety Industry Federation has announced that its Chief Executive Officer Alan Murray is to retire from the post at the end of 2024.

Alan Murray has held the CEO post at The British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) since January 2014. On 31 December 2024, Alan will become Executive Chair, taking over from John Gill who will step down.

The BSIF is the trade organisation for the health and safety industry in the UK, with almost 400 members representing manufacturers, importers, distributors and providers of specialist services. It administers the Registered Safety Supplier Scheme providing duty holders with a means of recognising suppliers who supply PPE and safety equipment in line with their regulatory duties and responsibilities.

New CEO Recruitment Drive

The BSIF will now initiate the recruitment of a new Chief Executive Officer, who will lead the federation and its membership in the coming years. Advertisements for the CEO position will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
