As part of World FM Day, Global FM has announced the Awards of Excellence this morning.

Global FM is the worldwide alliance of facilities management organisations. World FM Day is the worldwide celebration of facilities management.

This year’s winners were announced by Duncan Waddell at the Workplace Continuity conference being held by Global FM Corporate Supporter NJW in London. Waddell said: “The Global FM Excellence in FM Awards recognise the best of the best in facilities management, highlighting how they support businesses across the globe.”

The 2015 winners are as follows:

Platinum Award of Excellence in FM – BIFM - JLL Property and Asset Management Academy, UK

Gold Award of Excellence in FM – IFMA – Westminster Schools Move to a Sustainable Campus, USA

Silver Award of Excellence in FM – FMA - People and Productivity - Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Australia

Duncan Waddell continued: “The top submissions demonstrated good innovation and connection with the rest of the business as well as the FM community. This provides some great examples which show that innovation is not and does not have to be, limited to big business and meaningful impact can be made from everyone operating right across the sector.”

Key highlights from the award-winning submission are as follows:

The JLL Property and Asset Management Academy

The Property and Asset Management (PAM) Academy was set up to embrace all learning activities within JLL and are linked globally so the organisation can share and collaborate on the training delivered all over the world. As part of this work JLL offer an IOSH Managing Safely qualification and is the first UK managing agent to become a BIFM Recognised Centre offering Level 4 qualifications in FM.

Westminster Schools Move to a Sustainable Campus

Since this time the School has undertaken a series of business improvement projects which have included the development of a campus retention pond, and ongoing sustainability audits.

The energy audit and all subsequent improvement projects were delivered with an ROI of 34% based on a base year of 2008.

People and Productivity – Commonwealth Bank of Australia

Over a 12 month period the Group Property has transformed an array of services and processes that support the Commonwealth Bank Group; engaging their team to improve service, reduce costs and cut red tape that impacted the efficient operation of their commercial and retail properties.
