This World FM Day, ThisWeekinFM collates some of the best of our Spotlight Interviews with FM leaders.

2024’s World FM Day theme is “Inspire, Integrate, Innovate: Ignite your career in FM”. Over the years we have interviewed a range of thought leaders within the built environment world, getting to grips with what makes them tick and why they’ve chosen a career in facilities management.

Joanna Harris, Senior Programme Manager and Hard FM Ambassador at Sodexo and is well known for her voluntary work and advocacy for women in engineering. 

In the interview below, Joanna talked us through her career history and why she’s proud to be an ambassador of hard FM:

David Stevens, incoming Chair of the CIBSE Facilities Management Group, and Director of Estates, Facilities & Capital Development at East London NHS Foundation Trust shares his career highlights, personal aims, and his passion for diversity and inclusion within the industry.

Taking it back to 2020, we were delighted to speak to the 2019 PFM Young Leader of the Year Award winner Roshan Deshmanya, who had lots to say about FM leadership and the future of work.

On the service provider side, Alex Diaz, Founder and CEO of Purgo Supply Services started her career in FM at 14 years old when she helped her mother clean in department stores. We spoke to Alex about how she differentiates her business and why she became an early adopter of robotic technology.

Our most recent Spotlight interview was with well-known industry name Geoff Prudence, to discuss his 21-year tenure as Chair of the CIBSE Facilities Management Group and plans for the future:
