Joanna Harris is a Senior Programme Manager and Hard FM Ambassador at Sodexo and is well known for her voluntary work and advocacy for business-focused maintenance.
As well as her role at Sodexo, Joanna has a huge involvement in industry benchmarking and standards, chairing the CIBSE maintenance task group, leading the update of CIBSE Guide M Maintenance Engineering and Management and co-authoring “KS21 Competency and competency management systems in facilities management”, to name a few.
She was also named at the 2022 Building Controls Industry Association awards with an Outstanding Contribution award for her voluntary work and her dedication to inspiring women to consider a career in the building services sector.
We spoke to Joanna about her advocacy for engineering careers, her thoughts on The Building Safety Act and the challenge of being a woman in a male-dominated industry.
