The details
The CIBSE Heat Pumps Summit, co-organised with the BESA, brings together industry leaders, engineers, policymakers, and manufacturers to explore best practice, emerging guidance, and future requirements for heat pump deployment across the UK. The event will focus on the practical and strategic challenges of scaling heat pump installations in both residential and non-domestic buildings.
What to expect:
- New and emerging CIBSE guidance: Introduction to AM16: Heat Pump Installations for Multi-Unit Residential Buildings and AM17.1 guidance and heat pump retrofit considerations. You'll also learn about the upcoming Domestic Heat Pump Design and Installation Guide, expected for release later this year.
- Commercial Applications of Heat Pumps: Commercial applications of heat pumps, including whole system design: storage, controls and optimisation; integration with existing HVAC and legacy systems; real world case studies: successes and pain points; and heat networks - when commercial heat pumps make sense as network energy centres, and opportunities created by zoning and local area energy planning.
- Regulatory landscape: Understanding the implications of the Warm Homes Plan and the Future Homes Standard, planning reforms, and other regulatory changes shaping low‑carbon building services.
- Skills, workforce, and supply chain: The capabilities needed to support the UK’s transition, including training, industry skills gaps, manufacturing capacity, and the evolving heat pump technology ecosystem.
