Jonas, Netherlands

Taking home the prize for New Construction Residential Award and People’s Choice – Residential Award, Jonas consists of 273 residential units at the harbour of Amsterdam IJburg.

Designed by Orange Architects in collaboration with ABT and Felixx Landscape Architects and Planners, Jonas was awarded the BREEAM Outstanding design certificate, BREEAM Outstanding delivery certificate and the BREEAM Outstanding In Use certificate.

The use of sustainable materials such as timber contributes to the building’s sustainable footprint. Construction company Ballast Nedam West also separated construction waste into seven recyclable streams, which ensured a waste separation rate of at least 97 per cent. This is above the minimum 80 per cent required by BREEAM.

Lombard Street 3rd Floor West, London

Winning Best Refurbishment & Fit-Out Project, Lombard Street 3rd Floor West is a Cat A fit-out project focused on sustainability and conservation.

The Grade II listed building sits in the heart of the Square Mile, and is the former home of the Smith, Payne & Smiths bank. The project team worked to ensure that the fit-out met with sustainability and heritage objectives.

New sanitaryware and WCs were installed with water-saving fittings, and the mechanical and electrical services were upgraded to improve operational efficiency, including the installation of FCUs and new metering systems that align with BREEAM RFO Ene 02 requirements.

The fit-out attained high BREEAM assessment scores in energy performance, indoor environmental quality, and resource management.
