SPACE FM Consultancy Services, part of Space Solutions, was highly commended for Building/Facilities Management Contract of the Year in the NEC Awards. The team was recognised for its excellence in implementing the NEC4 (TSC) FM contract with the Scottish Government.
NEC4 contracts have been praised for their ability to foster greater collaboration. The NEC4 Alliance Contract (ALC) was introduced in June 2018, and is known as a “true alliance arrangement in which the client and all key members of the supply chain are engaged under a single contract.”
The NEC Awards recognise excellence in project delivery and showcase examples of good practice through collaboration from across the world.
The NEC4 (TSC) FM contract was to provide integrated facilities support provision across a large, varied and geographically demanding estate encompassing over 70 properties. The Scottish Government project was managed and implemented by the Head of FM Consultancy at SPACE FM, Miguel Montenegro, who holds full accreditation as an NEC4 TSC Service Manager.
Grahame Anderson Head of Delivery Services at the Scottish Government said: “SPACE FM was an integral part of the team that specified, tendered, awarded and mobilised the Scottish Government’s FM contract. They worked with us through each step of the procurement journey, helping to achieve all our key milestones in line with Scottish Government policy.
“This included preparations for the application of NEC4 (TSC) through joint training, the development of procedures and, the introduction of contract management software. Their professional support has been a key aspect of our successful migration, through mobilisation, to business as usual.”
Miguel Montenegro added: “Core to the success of this project was our collaborative and one-team approach with the Scottish Government. Our expertise on NEC4 (TSC) implementation was critical in bringing a significant solution to a complex arrangement.
“This commendation reflects our profound expertise in contract management, procurement and operational performance that can help to transform a client’s business.”
