For the Celebrity Golf Open 2023, ThisWeekinFM, together with Clarion.Golf, took the FM industry back to the luscious fairways and immaculate greens of Woburn Golf Club for another unforgettable golf event.

As the name suggests, this Celebrity Open gave each team the opportunity to include an ex-sporting celebrity from the competitive world of football, rugby or cricket as their fourth member. This year we welcomed Austin Healey, Mark Foster, John Salako and John Conteh.

The Duke's Course sports fairways lined with pine, silver birch and chestnut trees. Heather, bracken and gorse add to the charm of the course, as well as providing some of the natural hazards of each hole.

We saw some superb strokes and plenty of healthy competition, all against this breathtaking backdrop.

As the buggies were parked and the golf clubs put away, we enjoyed some light entertainment from Former World Golf Trick Shot Champion, Geoff Swain followed by a delicious evening meal. 

Of course, there was also plenty of opportunity for networking and conversations in the relaxed environment of the club house.

In Aid of Centre Algarve 

 

All proceeds from the silent auction and a portion of the team sign-up fee went to Centre Algarve in Portugal. Centre Algarve is mainland Europe’s only dedicated holiday centre designed to provide a range of facilities for people with special needs to enjoy.
