14forty, Compass Group’s IFM business, has been named Highly Commended at the Global FM Awards of Excellence 2023 for its approach to workplace catering.

The award was for the company’s transformation of its catering offer across its workplace restaurants, using plant-based recipes to help clients nudge employees into healthier food choices. 14forty have also partnered with the University of Oxford to develop eco-labelling, which rates dishes from A to E depending on how good they are for the environment. The LEAP sustainability food labelling system scoring is based on greenhouse gas emissions, water scarcity, water pollution and biodiversity loss.

14forty was nominated by the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) after the company won in its “Wellbeing” category in the IWFM Impact Awards programme 2022.

Mauro Ortelli, Managing Director at 14forty, said: “Our brand is centred around championing our partners, people and the planet, so wellbeing flows through the deepest veins of our business. To be Highly Commended in the Global FM Awards of Excellence feels fantastic.

“We work hard to create and promote wellbeing programmes across all areas of our business, such as D&I and sustainability, not just our food offer. To be recognised in such a prestigious awards scheme is testament to our hard working and dedicated employees.

“So, I’d like to thank our team, as well as the IWFM for the nomination. We are absolutely delighted.”
