Acorn Engineering Group Acquired by Cambridge Maintenance Services

28 May 2021

The acquisition of Acorn by Cambridge Maintenance Services Group is complete, including Acorn Engineering, Marsh and AIS BMS.

Funded by investment company Rockpool, the deal means the two companies will work together to share greater resource, capacity and abilities.

There will be no immediate changes to the presentation or current operation of either Acorn or Cambridge and service delivery teams and all contacts will remain the same. Current Chair and MD of Acorn Graham Errington is to retire, with the management team to be headed up by Jon Coiley.

With a combined maintenance turnover in excess of £32 million and over 300 employees, the overall group business will be a significant service provider in the marketplace.

Cambridge Maintenance Services is a nationwide supplier of technical engineering services, offering mechanical and electrical planned preventative maintenance, as well as round-the-clock reactive services for a diverse set of clients. Acorn Engineering Group is a specialist supplier of planned and reactive mechanical, electrical and water treatment services operating in London and the South East. It also has a specialist BMS and analytics company providing BMS services, remote monitoring and analytics to improve building performance and reduce energy usage and costs.
