Adam Taylor, CEO of ARM Environments will take over from Nathan Wood, Managing Director of Farmwood M&E Services, who has served as Chair for five years and is now taking up a new position as Head of Special Projects focused on helping BESA establish competence standards for ventilation design, installation and commissioning.
BESA’s Indoor Air Quality group is dedicated to creating better technical IAQ guidance for the building services industry, as well as raising awareness of the issue at government level. During Nathan Wood’s time as chair, the group produced a series of best practice guides to IAQ including a rapid response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It also supported plans to introduce Ella’s Law, named in memory of Ella Roberta Kissi-Debrah, the first person in the world to have her death directly attributed to air pollution.
Adam’s first official role as chair will be hosting an event marking National Clean Air Day at the Wave in Bristol on 20 June 2024, featuring several expert speakers addressing the role of IAQ in protecting human health, comfort, and productivity.
This is an amazing time to be taking up the reins,” said Adam. “Hardly a day goes by without IAQ hitting the headlines and our industry is deeply involved in a range of vital activities aimed at improving the health, wellbeing, and productivity of building occupants.
“I am also hugely indebted to Nathan for his inspirational leadership over the past five years – and am delighted that he will continue to play a central role by taking on several key projects that will help take our guidance, training and thought leadership onto the next level.”
