• BNP Paribas Finalises Acquisition of AXA Investment Managers

AXA has sold its investment arm to BNP Paribas Cardif for cash proceeds of €5.1 billion.

BNP Paribas Cardif is the insurance subsidiary of BNP Paribas, and has signed a long-term contract with AXA Group to manage a large proportion of its assets.

AXA also closed the sale of Select to AXA IM for €0.3 billion, bringing the total transaction value to €5.4 billion.

BNP Paribas Cardif will provide investment management services, whilst AXA will retain full authority over product design, asset allocation and asset-liability management decisions.

The deal is part of BNP Paribas Group’s ambition to become the European leader in long-term savings management for insurers and pension funds.
