CMD Acquired by Luceco Group

Lighting manufacturer and distributor Luceco Group has acquired CMD Ltd in a deal worth £30 million.

Luceco’s brands include BG, Masterplug, Sync Energy and the Nexus range of Workstation Power products.

CMD, which manufactures power distribution systems for commercial environments, will continue to operate at its site in Rotherham. Jon Holding will remain as Managing Director, working with John Hornby, CEO of Luceco, and will continue to be supported by the current management team.

John Hornby said: "Luceco has a well-established position as a leading supplier of wiring accessories to the residential market in the UK so CMD, with its leading position in the commercial wiring accessories market, is a very natural fit. The group's expertise in product development, manufacturing and sourcing will enable us to accelerate range innovation and improve margins for CMD."
