Facilities Show Digital Week – Keeping FM Connected

Facilities Show Digital Week – Keeping FM Connected
29 May 2020

In a five-day programme of content, Facilities Show recently hosted its first Digital Week.

Intended to keep facilities and workplace management professionals connected, alongside its co-located shows IFSEC International, FIREX International, Safety & Health Expo, Workplace Wellbeing Show and Intelligent Building Europe, Facilities Show produced a range of content-rich webinars and white papers for the digital event.

Staying connected with FM at Digital Week

The topics for the week were:

  • COVID-19 and facilities management
  • Sustainability: achieving net-zero
  • Office space: rethinking how we work
  • Smart buildings and the potential for automated control

If you were unable to join in, there are many resources available on their dedicated page. Some of the webinars have been made available as part of Facilities Show’s on-demand service, including “Health and safety law conundrums during the pandemic”.

Simon Joyston-Bechal, Director at Turnstone Law, provided the latest legal updates around COVID-19. In this session, Joyston-Bechal discussed how to manage difficult decisions relating to COVID-19. He answered questions such as “could we be prosecuted for COVID-19 exposures?”. He also covered the importance of statutory inspections.

Facilities Show Postponed Until September

Facilities Show and co-located shows have been rescheduled to take place on 8–10 September 2020 at ExCeL London. It was originally scheduled for 19-21 May 2020.

Chris Edwards, Group Director of Informa Markets, who produces the event said of the postponement at the time:

“By working closely with our venue partners ExCeL we have now been able to secure rescheduled dates for these events, which will now serve as an opportunity for our clients and exhibitors to regather in September —it gives the market time to recover as demand catches up.

“The rescheduled date provides clarity and ensures we have time and space to deliver the same fantastic event we promised, providing a safe and secure environment conducive to business, networking and career development for the health and safety and facilities management professions.”
