Read Full ArticleCommercial heating specialist Modutherm will be showcasing a range of its industry-leading HIUs and heat pumps at the forthcoming CIBSE Build2Perform Live exhibition on stand 222.
The star attraction will be the company’s MTA Plus, which is officially the most efficient heat interface unit (HIU) on the market, following testing results by BESA. The unit achieved the lowest VWART (volume-weight average return temperature) in both high- and low-temperature tests, with values of 26°C (high) and 24°C (low) respectively. Achieving these incredibly low VWART figures ensures the MTA Plus HIU is perfect for use in 4th generation low-temperature heat networks utilising heat pumps or boilers.
Among the other products on display will be the AW45 heat pump, a simple but powerful unit specifically developed to meet the heating, cooling and domestic hot water demands of commercial applications, such as apartment buildings, schools, offices and hotels. It is available in three models with a heating capacity range of 30kW to 90kW, while up to 16 units can be arranged in cascade to provide a maximum combined output of 1,440kW.
Visitors will also be able to view the floor-standing Juniper HP Plus heat pump water heater, which is available in two models, with capacities of 200-300 litres. This unit cleverly integrates a highly efficient air source heat pump with an unvented cylinder for powerful and convenient hot water production – perfect for electric only residential apartments.
Finally, there will also be the opportunity to discover more about the Planair and Decoral radiators from Modutherm’s sister company, MHS Radiators. Both Decoral aluminium radiators and the fan-assisted Planair models have been developed to work on low temperature heat pump systems for maximum efficiency.
