FM service provider Vertas Group has been presented with the 2025 King's Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development.
The King’s Awards for Enterprise, previously known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, honour businesses for innovation, sustainability, social mobility and international trade.
Vertas Group was one of 27 organisations recognised for sustainable development, for its commitment to environmental responsibility. In 2024, it achieved a 22 per cent absolute carbon reduction, with decreases across energy use, water, travel, waste, and paper consumption.
The company also uses a chemical-free cleaning service and has saved £2.2 million in single-use plastics through its sustainable procurement policy.
The award allows Vertas Group to use the King's Awards Emblem for the next five years.
Ian Surtees MBA, FIoD, Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vertas Group, said: "Receiving the King's Award for Enterprise is a testament to our team's hard work and dedication to sustainability. This award not only recognises our efforts but also motivates us to continue making a positive impact throughout the UK. We are proud to contribute to a greener future for our community and colleagues."
