Bidvest Noonan Robot Wins Worldwide Best Performance Award

The Rex Cleaning Cobot, operated by Bidvest Noonan at Swords Pavilions Shopping Centre, has won the Lionsbot International Worldwide Best Performance award for 2023.

The Rex is a cleaning robot that uses depth cameras, and sonar sensors to help it navigate and avoid collisions. It uses lidar technology to clean 4,032m² - or the size of a football field - in one hour, the highest cleaning efficiency in its size class.

The machine can also autonomously recharge, empty its wastewater tank, and refill its solution tank.

Bidvest Noonan’s team at Swords Pavilions, one of Dublin’s premier shopping destinations, deploys the machine for large area cleaning, freeing team members to focus on higher-value tasks, enhancing overall productivity and service quality.

The award-winning Rex was chosen following an evaluation of performance metrics, such as square meterage cleaned per day, efficiency, and consistency.

Peter Smyth, Director of Innovation and Technology at Bidvest Noonan, said, "This recognition from Lionsbot International is a testament to our commitment to innovation and excellence. We are also grateful for the support of Clenli Direct throughout this journey. We are proud of our collaboration with Swords Pavilions and are thrilled to see the Rex making such a significant impact."
