Hive Cleaning Certified as a B Corporation

Hive Cleaning, an office cleaning company, has announced its certification as a B Corporation, after receiving the highest Impact Score among all the UK facilities and cleaning companies.

After meeting rigorous ESG standards, Hive Cleaning was awarded 108.5. The B Corp community in the UK comprises over 950 companies and include brands such as The Guardian, innocent, Patagonia, The Body Shop and x+why, the flexible workplace provider.

Certified by B Lab, the B Corp certification addresses the entirety of a business’ operations and covers five key impact areas of governance, workers, community, environment, and customers. The certification process is rigorous, with applicants required to reach a benchmark score of over 80 while providing evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices.

Hive’s Managing Director Louis Beaumont said: ‘’B-Corp for me was the most significant certification that we could ever attain, as it independently showcases the truth about our business and the way it is operated. In a world where greenwashing is rife, I felt this was important to clearly demonstrate that we were different.

"For us, it is critical that we change the perceptions of the cleaning industry in the eyes of the world, and B Corp is hugely important in helping do this. People and Planet before Profit!’’

Chris Turner, Executive Director of B Lab UK, added “We are delighted to welcome Hive to the B Corp community. This is a movement of companies who are committed to changing how business operates and believe business really can be a force for good. Their commitment to doing business differently will be an inspiration to others and really help spread the idea that we can redefine success in business to be as much about people and planet as it is about profit”.
