This month has seen new appointments at Bidvest Noonan, BSRIA and Business Moves Group.

Bidvest Noonan Appoints Technology Solutions Director

Bidvest Noonan has announced its plan to introduce disruptive new technologies to bring about its vision of truly touchless and frictionless security.

The business has recruited well-known industry name Stephen Webb as its Director of Technology Solutions. Webb has over 20 years of experience in leading the development of security technology businesses in the UK and North America.

Bidvest Noonan accelerated its innovation and technology programmes in response to the pandemic. The business reports that it saw working practices change and clients grappling with a host of new problems during this challenging period. Bidvest Noonan's security solutions team sought technology-enhanced solutions to help clients keep their people safe, ensure business continuity, and find new ways to achieve their longer-term objectives. 

Stephen Webb's appointment to this newly created senior leadership role signals the business' commitment to advancing its security technology plans. Commenting on this development, Eddie Ingram, Managing Director of Security Solutions at Bidvest Noonan said "I am thrilled to welcome Stephen to our team. He has a proven track record for leveraging technology to deliver performance improvements and added value to clients. Tom Garrigan to be New Technical Director at the Building Services Research and Information Association

BSRIA chair Tom Smith has announced the appointment of Tom Garrigan BSc (Hons) as the new BSRIA Technical Director.

Tom Garrigan joined BSRIA in 2007 as a test engineer and has gained broad experience in the sector, becoming Business Manager for the BSRIA Test House in 2015. He maintains a distinguished profile in the sector and is well known for his expertise in the UK and Overseas.

Smith said, “BSRIA is delighted with Tom’s appointment and looks forward to his continued prominence and impact on the sector.”

Julia Evans, BSRIA CEO, said, “Tom will be a welcome member of the team and brings with him not only innate professionalism and knowledge but also insightful views of BSRIA’s future.”

Tom Garrigan added, “I am honoured to take on this important role for BSRIA and for the sector. I look forward to taking BSRIA forward into the forthcoming challenges presented by its strategic agenda.”

Business Moves Group Appoints Derek Binnie as Non-Executive Director

Business Moves Group (BMG), an office and commercial relocation change management company, has appointed Derek Binnie as a non-executive director.

A skilled strategic and operational director, Binnie boasts more than two decades of experience in workplace consultancy, design and move and change management sectors. He has an extensive track record of growing businesses across the UK, with intimate knowledge of the Scottish market.

In his role as a non-executive director, Binnie will provide invaluable independent advice and oversight to the BMG executive team, including developing and implementing tactics to continue growing the business.

On his appointment, Derek Binnie said: “I’ve known BMG and MD Rachel Houghton for a number of years from mutual contracts we have worked on and have great respect for the business. It was noticeable how the team always go above and beyond delivering core workplace change services whilst continually looking to offer added value workplace services and support. I’m excited to be able to play a part in growing the business further and sharing my knowledge of the sector in such a dynamic period, particularly in the Scottish market.”

Rachel Houghton, managing director at BMG, added: “Derek has extensive experience of the workplace change and consultancy space and makes a great addition to our team. We’re particularly excited by his in-depth knowledge of the Scottish market as it’s an area we want to expand in. Derek’s appointment is a signal of intent that BMG is in a strong position and ready to keep growing.”
