New Year - Resolve The Deep Clean Conundrum

FMs and cleaning teams have been tolerating or ignoring a costly conundrum in the cleaning industry for too long – but it can resolved it in 2020 says James White.

White is MD of Rawlins. He said: “The widespread reliance on periodic deep cleans is an admission that routine cleaning is inadequate.

“Dirty and untidy premises are typically poorly treated by those who work there. Yet if they are clean and hygienic, people will respect and look after them better. It’s time to reverse the downward spiral of poor janitorial care and commit to quality daily cleans.

"As we welcome in the New Year, we’re urging the industry to join us and make it their 2020 resolution!”

Measure

According to White, daily cleaning that is measurably effective and consistent prevents the build-up of soils that necessitate the extra expense and disruption of a special, deep clean. A thorough daily clean leaves safe and hygienic surfaces and avoids these costs. It also means the end of that steady decline in hygiene between deep cleans as grease and toxins accumulate.

"High-quality routine cleaning needn’t be more expensive or time-consuming," said White. "And it’s just become even more sustainable with the arrival of two new versions of the Kaivac cleaning system.

“The hallmark of these two models is measurably effective, daily cleaning, using less water and chemicals, so users can burnish their environmental credentials as they save money and clean better.”

At a Stretch

The Kaivac AutoVac Stretch is a walk-behind flooring cleaning machine that uses about one-third the chemicals and a quarter of the water than other models in the Rawlins range while cleaning faster and with a greater range between fill-ups.

The Stretch also has a quick-change lithium-ion power pack. Ideal for large areas of flooring, this model cleans more than 25,000 square feet per hour on a single fill-up.

Also new for 2020, the Kaivac UniVac is a compact version of the Rawlins' Dispense-and-Vac system. Designed for kitchen cleaning and degreasing, restroom and industrial floors, this is a nimble all-in-one machine ideal for congested areas with limited storage. The UniVac comes in a wired an in battery form.
