The Floating Glass Museum is a response to global rising sea levels and extreme weather events. In a series of CGIs, architecture firm Luca Curci Architects presents a colourful, floating concept which is designed to withstand an uncertain future, dominated by climate change.

By 2100, scientists predict that sea levels will rise at least another 0.3 meters, but possibly as high as 2.4 meters, if carbon emissions continue at the current rate. Floating buildings have been suggested as a solution for cities at risk of floods and major weather events. Referencing the world’s largest floating office in Rotterdam, The World Economic Forum suggests that floating structures could help at-risk communities prepare for rising sea levels.

Luca Curci’s museum concept is inspired by the waterways of Venice and the craft of glassmaking, featuring huge undulating roof structures and beautiful stained glass. The design is intended to represent sustainability, sanctuary and experimentation.

The project will be presented in affected by climate change like Dubai, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore and Busan.
