Name: Lewis Stock

Number: 30143492

Service: Royal Navy

Regiment: HMS Submarines

Years Served: 10 years (2011-2021)

Current Role: Electrical Engineer at Acorn Engineering Group

I joined the Royal navy in July 2011 and after my basic training I trained to become a Weapons Engineer Submariner.

The role involved managing a military team comprising of specialist engineering technicians, being responsible for the planning and completion of maintenance schedules within challenging timescales and meeting the platforms operational requirements.  Additionally ensuring the safe systems of work that require implementation for each task and adherence to safety regulations that safeguard personnel within the workplace.

Having served numerous patrols on nuclear deterrent on Vanguard-class nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine and after 10 years of service achieving the rank of Leading Weapon Engineering Submariner, I decided it was my time to leave.

I joined Acorn in 2021 where I have been provided with the training and on-site guidance to become an Electrical Engineer in the Facilities Management sector.

The role varies like the Military and split work in pre-planned and reactive maintenance.
