Europe’s leading facilities management provider Apleona, is being sold to PAI Partners for a reported 1.6 billion .

The transaction is subject to customary conditions and approvals and is expected to close early in Q2 of 2021.

Announced on Sunday, (06 December 2020), shares of around €450-470 million will also be shared with former owner Bilfinger, due to a clause made in the 2016 deal. Apelona was sold to EQT in a €1.4 billion deal in 2016.

It’s also rumoured that an IPO for Apelona is also being considered for Summer 2021, organised by Deutche Bank and UBS.

“A New Phase of Growth”

“We have an advantage with digital products and the automation and digitalization of operational processes and an unrivalled track record of sustainability initiatives supporting our client's efforts. We are very excited to take this next step of our journey together with PAI and enter a new phase of growth both through M&A and also our enhanced organic growth potential"
