With effect from 21 May 2026, the Executive Board of Apleona Group - a leading European real estate and facility management company, headquartered in Neu-Isenburg near Frankfurt am Main - will be restructured. Responsibilities for the individual business divisions will be adjusted accordingly.
Following three successful years as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Apleona Group, Christian Kloevekorn is stepping down from the Executive Board to join the Supervisory Board of Apleona. Michael Engel, Group COO, will take on responsibility for infrastructure facility management in Germany, in addition to his existing responsibilities for international business and major international clients.
As of 21 May 2026, the Executive Board of the Apleona Group will consist of the following members: Dr Jochen Keysberg (CEO), Dr Georg J. Fronja (CFO), Dr Pascal Engel (CTO), Dr Gert W. Riegel (COO for technical and integrated facility and real estate management in Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and Michael Engel (COO for the international FM business outside the DACH region, international key accounts and infrastructure FM in Germany).
CEO Dr Jochen Keysberg comments on Christian Kloevekorn’s move to the Apleona Supervisory Board as follows:
“Over the past three years, Mr Christian Kloevekorn has successfully integrated the former Gegenbauer units responsible for infrastructure facility management into Apleona and its business model. Together with his teams, he has made a significant contribution to developing the infrastructure facility management division into a cornerstone of our integrated business model. On behalf of my colleagues on the Executive Board, I would like to express our sincere gratitude for his outstanding and valuable dedication.
We are very pleased that Mr. Kloevekorn will remain closely connected to the company as a member of the Supervisory Board and that we will be able to draw on his proven and valuable expertise there and in other advisory roles.
The handover of responsibility to Michael Engel has been carefully planned over the long term, ensuring a seamless and smooth transition for both customers and employees. He will continue to promote the professionalisation and growth of our infrastructure business in Germany.”
