Kris Nicholson, who had a 34-year career in the Royal Navy as a Logistics Officer, has joined Compass Group’s Armed Forces Committee as Co-Chair.

Kris joins existing Co-Chair, Angela Lewis and Executive Sponsor, Mark Webster, CEO of Compass One. He is an active Reservist and his final role in the Royal Navy saw him leading a team of over 500 people that managed day-to-day HR for the Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Royal Fleet Auxiliary. Kris joined Compass as Business Director for ESS in 2024.

The Armed Forces Committee is one of Compass’ six Employee Networks, and has implemented several key initiatives in support of the veteran community, including a Spouses Policy with an additional day of paid leave to support pre or post-deployments. In 2024, Compass had its Gold status revalidated for the Armed Forces Employer Recognition Scheme – having signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2016.

Commenting on his appointment, Kris said: “Supporting the military community is something which is very close to my heart, so I’m thrilled to be taking on this role alongside Angela. The work undertaken by this network to date has been incredible - providing not just support but actually driving meaningful change for military communities. I’m looking forward to working with the brilliant group of dedicated and enthusiastic ambassadors, to continue and develop the great work being done in this important space.”
