Mecsia Group Acquires Ashley & McDonough Compliance Services

Mecsia Group Acquires Ashley & McDonough Compliance Services
29 July 2025

M&E maintenance provider Mecsia has acquired Ashley & McDonough, a Northwest-based compliance, maintenance, and installation services specialist in the social housing and local authority sectors.

This will allow Mecsia to expand both its presence in the Northwest and its service capabilities, with a combined headcount of 1,300 people.

Ashley & McDonough (A&M) will remain as a brand under the Mecsia Group, with the leadership team remaining in place.

Mecsia was formed in 2020 after acquiring Cambridge Maintenance Services and subsequently Acorn, SK Refrigeration & Heating, Artic Building Services, Scott Combustion and ECG Facilities Services.

Jon Coiley, CEO of Mecsia, said: “We’re very excited to welcome Ashley & McDonough into the group. Their long-standing heritage, outstanding reputation, and commitment to service excellence make them a perfect fit. This acquisition strengthens our ability to deliver industry-leading, self-delivered services across an even broader geographic footprint — all while maintaining our local delivery model that customers value so highly. We have been particularly impressed with the leadership, ambition and award-winning reputation of A&M and we look forward to helping accelerate their expansion across the UK”

Darren Cunningham, Managing Director at A&M, added: “We’re incredibly proud of everything A&M has achieved over the last 60 years. Joining Mecsia is the next natural step in our evolution — a move that allows us to grow, invest in our people, and bring even more value to our customers. Most importantly, our service model, autonomy and values stay the same. This is a new chapter built on trust, mutual respect, and shared ambition.”
