Network Rail has released new images of London Liverpool Street station's “evolved” redevelopment plans.
ACME’s designs show new station entrances and a 19-storey office building above the station.

A new planning application for the project has been submitted to the City of London, after the previous deal with development partner Sellar and original architect Herzog & de Meuron collapsed. Historic England called the previous application “oversized and insensitive”, taking issue with the office tower directly on top of the Grade II* listed former Great Eastern hotel.
The new plans promise a more sensitive redevelopment, after Network Rail Property’s new consultations with Historic England, local communities and accessibility advocates.
Plans for a commercial development above the concourse have been scrapped in favour of an office set back from the Great Eastern Hotel. Revisions have been made to the reduce the height and size of the building, and a stepped roof will protect views of St Paul’s Cathedral.
The new scheme is lower overall than the old design – its highest point is 97m compared to 108m previously.
A new street entrance via Hope Square with Victorian-inspired arches is intended to "evoke other great historic stations in the UK and abroad.”
The Victorian Society, who has opposed each iteration of the plans, announced on X (Twitter) that they will be reviewing and commenting on the application once it is live on the planning portal.
