OCS Introduces Urban Farming Techniques at Client Sites

OCS Introduces Urban Farming Techniques at Client Sites
20 November 2024

OCS is working with Angel Hill Food Co. to engage office workers in sustainability by using hydroponic farm pods in their workplaces.

The pods are effectively mobile containers that grow fresh produce such as lemon basil, parsley, and rainbow chard. It allows year-round crop growth, unaffected by seasonal changes or weather conditions, ensuring a steady supply of fresh produce.

Unlike traditional horizontal farming, these modular farms can be stacked vertically to maximise the use of space.

The initiative is also useful for employee engagement, working as a conversation starter about sustainability, nutrition, and wellbeing.

OCS and Angel Hill Food Co., which is part of the OCS Group, plan to coordinate harvests to donate fresh produce to local charities, food banks, and hospitals.
