Pioneer FM has been awarded a three-year contract to provide the cleaning and associated services at Daresbury Laboratory for the Science and Technologies Facilities Council.
The appointment follows a rigorous procurement exercise focussed on creating added value and delivering innovation at Daresbury Laboratory.
One of four Science and Technologies Facilities Council sites, the Laboratory is part of Sci-Tech Daresbury. It is one of two national science and innovation campuses, which supports scientists, researchers and industry by providing a collaborative and innovative environment to perform cutting-edge research.

Daresbury Laboratory is renowned for its world-leading scientific research in fields such as accelerator science, bio-medicine, physics, chemistry, materials, engineering and computational science.
Mary-Jane Pettit, Chief Executive Officer at Pioneer FM said: “We are delighted to be awarded the cleaning contract at Daresbury Labs – the home of UK innovation. As part of our partnership, we too will be striving to utilise the best innovations, equipment, and materials on the market. We’re also proud to be introducing chemical-free cleaning across all 22 buildings, reflecting our sustainability commitment at every turn."
ESG-Based Contract
Mary-Jane continued: “Fundamental to all of this are the cleaning operatives who will be delivering our services – and we welcome these Pioneers into our family. We are a people-first company, and there’s no better feeling than knowing this ethos aligns closely with that of the Science and Technologies Facilities Council. These are exciting times.“
Pioneer FM brings several ESG credentials to the contract, including a commitment to local employment and paying the Real Living Wage, joint audits using their audit software and the introduction of chemical-free cleaning systems and battery-powered equipment.
