Sustainable hygiene products such as 100 per cent bamboo tissues and paper straws from The Cheeky Panda are now available across the NHS supply chain.
The new partnership means The Cheeky Panda-branded toilet roll, facial tissue, pocket tissue and straws are now listed in the NHS supply chain. All products have tested as not containing PFAS, chemicals often associated with recycled toilet paper and facial tissue.
Under the *Greener NHS* initiative, the NHS aims to become the world’s first net-zero health service by 2040. The partnership with The Cheeky Panda is part of the drive to integrate more sustainable practices into its procurement and operations and include more SMEs in the supply chain.
Bamboo grows up to 30 times faster than trees and requires no fertilisers or pesticides. The Cheeky Panda’s products are also cruelty-free, and come in fully recyclable packaging, aligning with the NHS’s focus on reducing waste and promoting greener alternatives.
Chris Forbes, CEO and Co-founder of The Cheeky Panda said "We have been winning more and more government contracts via our supply chain distributors and we are incredibly proud to be listed with the NHS, a cornerstone of the UK's public services.”
“70 per cent of the people in the UK will at some point be affected by sensitive skin and if by using our tissues they experience a more soothing comfortable experience than recycled tissue we hope it will aid in comfort and recovery.”
