A Nice Little Aker

Aker Solutions has appointed CBRE to provide multi-services in a new five year contract. Aker Solutions is a global provider of products, systems and services to the oil and gas industry.

CBRE will provide FM across seven UK sites, to include four in Aberdeen, as well as sites in Chiswick, Reading and Hastings.

Under the terms of the contract, CBRE will provide a full range of technical and statutory maintenance services as well as property and grounds maintenance, a helpdesk, cleaning and catering services.

Axis Group Secures New Contract With Savills

Savills, one of the world’s largest real estate firms, has chosen two Axis Group companies, Axis Security and Axis Cleaning and Support Services to deliver services at two of its leisure sites in Yorkshire – Xscape Yorkshire and Cardigan Fields.

Xscape Yorkshire is a large leisure complex that features an indoor snow and ski slope, a multiplex cinema, bars, restaurants, retail outlets and attracts a significant footfall especially on weekends. Axis Security is providing manned guarding services 576 hours per week, employing a team of 12 security officers all of whom were transferred to Axis employment via TUPE. Axis Cleaning and Support Services is providing nine cleaning staff on the same site.

Cardigan Fields is a leisure park located just over a mile from the centre of Leeds. It is fully equipped with a cinema, gym and numerous restaurants. Axis Security is providing manned guarding services 252 hours per week, employing a security team of six.

Jason Warren, General Manager at Savills, said customer service is the priority for all Axis Group staff across the two sites: “We will be working closely with the Axis teams on customer service training to ensure members of the public can enjoy a safe and comfortable experience every time they visit.”

Critical National Infrastructure Sector

Ashridge Group is managing the security for a major energy provider as it re-commissions two compressor stations located in Cambridgeshire.

The sites are being upgraded as part of a £113 million National Grid contract, with Ashridge providing on-site security services for an initial period of five years. The management and application of the energy provider’s security operations is crucial to maintaining these critical national infrastructure services.

Working in partnership with VPS, a specialist provider of vacant, occupied and site security solutions, Ashridge is providing around the clock, high level resilience cover on both sites.

With the security teams already in place, an additional patrol is due to be added to one of the sites in due course, dedicated to maintaining strict access controls as the construction works progress and new entrance and exit points open up.

VPS’s JCB Smart Tower delivers CCTV monitoring and recording on a 24/7 basis. Proven for use in other high risk application areas, this rapidly deployable solution, which is equipped with a vandal-proof camera, infra-red illuminators, movement detectors and public address system, can also see in the dark and detect heat as well as light.
