Read Full ArticleFollowing a successful total facility management contract, initially awarded in 2017, Apleona has been awarded a two-year extension with Colworth Park.
This will take the partnership through to April 2022.
Colworth Park is a leading science park owned by Trinity Investment Management, and set in 91 acres of picturesque grounds in Bedfordshire. It is centred around the original 18th Century, Grade II listed Colworth House.
"We have worked hard during the last three years to understand their needs, and overcome challenges to meet these. We are looking forward to seeing what the next two bring.”
–Jacqui Paice
Managing Director, Apleona UK & IRL
Apleona delivers services including cleaning, waste management, facilities support, gym services, logistics and mail services, space planning, printing and reprographics, security, mechanical and electrical, refrigeration services, building fabric and project works. More recently, pest control was added to this list.
During the collaboration, Apelona has completely replaced the park’s security infrastructure and installed a high-efficiency heat reclaim air conditioning system in one of the park’s main buildings. Additionally, an integrated energy management system, able to track, flag and identify the source of energy usage throughout the site has been implemented.
Apleona has continued to suggest initiatives such as the use of electrolysed water as a surface sanitiser - this is currently being studied at the park, with an anticipation of replacing many of the chemical-based cleaning products used at the site.
Jacqui Paice, MD, Apleona UK & IRL commented: “It is wonderful news that Colworth Park has extended their contract with us. We have worked hard during the last three years to understand their needs, and overcome challenges to meet these. We are looking forward to seeing what the next two bring.”
