CCMP is to acquire BGIS, better known as Brookfield Global Integrated Services, for about US$1 billion; CleanEvent Services as won the QPR deal; and FSI will be supplying Cex - just three of our stories in a bumper FM Contracts Digest.

 

CCMP Goes A Billion ON BGIS

CCMP is to acquire BGIS, better known as Brookfield Global Integrated Services, for about US$1 billion.

The Company’s Chief Executive Officer, Gordon Hicks, and the management team will remain in place and work with CCMP to support the Company’s next phase of growth.

BGIS provides a full spectrum of customised facility management services, project delivery services, energy and sustainability solutions, asset management, workplace advisory and management and real estate services to real estate and infrastructure owners and occupiers.

Supported by a team of over 7,000 globally, the company manages over 320 million square feet of client portfolios over 30,000 locations in Australia, Asia, North America and Europe.

The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2019, subject to customary closing conditions. Ropes & Gray LLP and McCarthy Tétrault LLP are acting as legal counsel to CCMP with assistance from Australian counsel, Clayton Utz. Morgan Stanley is serving as financial advisor to CCMP.

 

Cleanevent Services Wins At QPR

CleanEvent Services, the venue cleaning and support services specialist, has agreed a three year cleaning services agreement with Queens Park Rangers FC - also known as the 'Rs'.

The agreement covers a full range of cleaning and associated services at the club’s Loftus Road Stadium in London W12. It was awarded after a competitive tender exercise.

 

Talking About Cex

CeX, the second-hand technology trader specialising in computing, video games and mobile phones have selected Concept Evolution CAFM/IWMS from FSI for the management of their stores throughout the UK and Ireland. 

Sam Millen, Head of Loss Prevention and Health & Safety at CeX, said: “With the rapid expansion of CeX, we required a robust solution to help us manage the estate and assist with all aspects of facilities management.  After careful consideration and looking at several solutions, we opted FSI's system as it fulfilled our requirements and offered the support we need to grow.”

 

Year Of Apprenticeship Perception Change

ABM UK has kicked off year two of its  Junior Engineering Engagement Programme (J.E.E.P) following a successful pilot year with three schools in West London.

ABM aims to tackle perceptions and provide information about engineering, facilities management and apprenticeships amongst secondary school aged children and their parents.

Supported by education delivery partner, The Transformation Trust, ABM will take the immersive programme into nine schools across the UK including schools in London, Leeds, Manchester and Bradford. Running from March to July 2019. This second year will see over 150 students participate in the programme. The modules include activities on electrics, cooling and more, with the theme of sustainability running throughout the course.

 

Marching On Its Stomach

British caterer and restaurateur Searcys have been providing catering at the HAC in the City of London since March 1.

The HAC is the venue that is home to the Honourable Artillery Company, incorporated by Royal Charter in 1537 and the oldest Regiment in the British Army. The Georgian mansion is set within a five acre hidden garden, just a few minutes from Moorgate station. Inside the historic building, Armoury House and the Prince Consort Rooms can accommodate parties of 10 to 700 guests. Outside, the stunning Artillery garden offers a setting for weddings, summer parties and sporting events for up to 5,000 guests. Searcy's will do all the event catering.

 

Windows On Brum Landmark

Specialist Window Cleaning, the window cleaning arm of Incentive FM Group, has expanded its portfolio to the Midlands, having won a contract to provide a range of services at The Cube, an iconic landmark which is widely considered to be one of the most compelling additions to Birmingham’s skyline.

Under the terms of the deal SWC, will provide window cleaning for the 25-storey structure utilising abseiling techniques and external building maintenance units to ensure the beauty of the building’s jewel-like exterior.

 

King's Catering

Independents by Sodexo has been awarded a five-year contract to manage catering services at The King’s School in Chester. 

Independents by Sodexo won the £4 million contract following a competitive tender process and will take over the service on 4 April 2019. Catering will have a focus on fresh, nutritious and seasonal food.

 

Free To Do What Is Wanted

The Department for Education has awarded Vinci Facilities a four-year contract that will be administered by LocatED, the government owned property company, responsible for buying and developing sites in England for the DfE free schools programme.

The Vinci Facilities team will deliver security, repairs and maintenance and compliance services to DfE owned sites that have been acquired for free schools, during the holding period prior to development starting and schools opening.

Vinci won a competitive tender via the Crown Commercial Services framework and will mobilise mid-2019.
